How Long Does the Printer Ribbon Last?
The first thing to look at is what model your pin printer is, and then determine how long it can take, because the different models of the machine ribbon are different, and the color is long and short. If the general print volume is not very large, you can count the last 1M1 days. This is almost the same, in fact, the ribbon can not be calculated by time. It is calculated according to your usage. As long as the ribbon is used, the printed word is a little light, or the ribbon is hairy or broken, then the ribbon can not be used. The ribbon is a cloth with dyed, but the material is also good or bad. A good ribbon can be used for a long time, it is not easy to fluff, and the place where the bad ribbon has been beaten is raised twice.
1, the service life of the ribbon depends on print text coverage rate, can not be generalized, the size of the paper is not uniform.
2, the ribbon is also divided into the original ribbon and compatible ribbon, the quality of the quality will affect the amount of printing
3, the general inspection method, see if the ribbon is whitish and faded in the place where the needle printer prints, and it can be seen when compared with the two sides.

How to extend the life of the ribbon
1, do it yourself
a Open the top cover of the printer and you will see a black box (usually black) shaped like a clip. We call it the print stand, and the empty part of it is the print head. Remove the print carriage. Be careful to remove it from the end near the print head when unpacking. The print carriage can be easily removed.
b You can open the print stand. Since the structure of the print stand of different printers is different, its ribbon winding method is slightly different, so you must observe the winding of the original ribbon, otherwise the ribbon is very likely. Cannot rotate normally and cause printing to fail. It is important to note that the two gears in the print carriage are to be colored with the ribbon and should be parallel to them, otherwise the ribbon will shift as the gear rotates.
c The gear can't be turned by the stuck gear. After the ribbon is installed, the print carriage can be returned to its original position and the ribbon replacement program can be completed.
2, a good way to extend the needle ribbon
a Prepare two print ribbon cartridges and print the official document with a darker (new) ribbon, using a lighter color (used, but the base must be intact, otherwise the needle will be damaged) The ribbon prints an informal paper or wax paper.
b Fix two small pieces of foam with transparent tape in the ribbon exit position of the ribbon cassette, sandwich the ribbon between the two foams, and let the foam absorb some good quality printing ink, so as to keep the ribbon moist. Extend the ribbon usage time.
c Use two foams with better quality printing ink to hold the ribbon exposed at the front of the ribbon cartridge, and gently rotate the ribbon shaft to add some ink to the ribbon that has been used for a while (with the base intact). (The whole ribbon should be added, otherwise the color will be different when printing), then open the ribbon box and let the inked ribbon cool (or add a small amount of gasoline in the ink), then try to play a few pages. The informal draft distributes the ink evenly. Print the official draft again.
d Develop the habit of adjusting the distance between the print head and the paper according to the thickness of the paper. The principle is that it can be large and large, as long as the printing effect is satisfactory. For new ribbons, you can also adjust the distance when printing thin paper, because the color is thicker to ensure print quality.
e The ribbon can be removed when printing wax paper. At this time, do not directly print the wax paper to prevent the wax from melting into the pinhole. Most wax papers are provided with transparent paper, which can be printed on wax paper.
f Sometimes the print ribbon cassette is not working properly, and the print pin repeatedly prints a part of the ribbon, causing the color to have a “hole”. At this time, the ribbon cassette should be opened first to check whether the gear and the metal card are in series (most of them). It is caused by the card card being too loose.) For the damaged ribbon, the hole portion can be cut off and then "welded". The "welding" method is simple: align the interface and slightly overlap, and stick it with a transparent thin tape on the inside (note: on the inside). If you are afraid of breaking, you can use the thin line in the left and right direction at the upper and lower interfaces. Needle (usually only the middle section of the ribbon). According to the quality of the ribbon and the specific conditions after printing, I have adopted the above method, which usually increases the use time of a ribbon by 1.5 to 2.5 times, which greatly reduces the consumption of color enamel.
